Registration is Now Open for the 2023 Reply Mail IMbA Promotion
This year, the USPS® is launching a new promotion, the Reply Mail IMbA™ promotion which includes a tiered system of discounts. With the available discounts being at 3% and 6%, this promotion encourages mailers to take advantage of Intelligent Mail® barcode Accounting (IMbA), Qualified Business Reply Mail™ (QBRM™) and High Volume QBRM™ which would offer easier payment methods for recipients and expedited processing on return mail pieces.
On May 15, registration opened for the USPS® Reply Mail IMbA promotion. This promotion offers mailers who incorporate either a Static or Serialized barcode on their Qualified Business Reply Mail.
Promotion Registration: May 15, 2023 – December 31, 2023
Promotion Dates: July 1, 2023 – December 31, 2023
Discount: 3% of eligible mailpieces using a static barcode with their QBRMs. 6% of eligible mailpieces that use a serialized barcode with their QBRMs.
Promotional Details
This promotion can help mailers streamline their reply mail processes by using the Intelligent Mail® Barcode (IMb) system. There are two types of barcodes that can be used in this promotion, Static and Serialized. The discount is earned on inbound QBRM pieces that have been pre-approved by the USPS and are registered for this promotion.
3% Discount:
Mailers can earn a 3% discount by using a static barcode on their Qualified Business Reply Mail pieces. A Static barcode means that the IMb barcodes are all the same and they specify the receiving mail house. Meaning, the mailer knows they are coming, but not who they are coming from. A mail house is a company that arranges the large-scale distribution of mail on behalf of business or organizations.
6% Discount:
Mailers can earn a 6% discount by using a serialized barcode on their Qualified Business Reply Mail pieces. A serialized barcode means the IMb barcodes are all different and they tell the receiving mail house who or where they are coming from. The mailer knows they are coming, and knows who or where they are coming from.
