Tension Corporation – An Update on our Response to COVID-19

Updated March 18, 2020

The current Global Pandemic of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a serious concern for the health of our Associates. As the nation, as well as cities and states, implement different levels of States of Emergency, Tension is doing our part to protect our Associates as well.  New information comes in daily and Tension continues to adjust our recommendations appropriately.

We have put in place a COVID-19 Task Force to address the ongoing situation. With regular communication and multiple meetings each week, we are quickly addressing new issues that arise. Tension continues to take action to ensure that we remain an effective part of your supply chain.

Policies

  • By Friday, March 20, 2020, all Associates who can do so will be working remotely. Experts believe this is the most effective way to slow the spread of person-to-person transmission of COVID-19. Our goal is to make sure that you continue to receive the same level of service you have come to expect from Tension as if our Associates were in the office. To this end, we are educating our Associates so that they can smoothly transition to remote working.
  • Only Tension Associates may enter our Tension buildings and offices. Raw material and other deliveries will proceed, but with additional precautions in place to ensure that those individuals are confined to limited, specific areas of our facilities.
  • At our buildings and offices, we will continue to strictly enforce our no entry policy for any Tension Associate who has been exposed to COVID-19, has traveled to a hot spot or is exhibiting symptoms. They must immediately self-quarantine and may not enter.
  • A no travel policy has been enacted.

Social Distancing and Good Hygiene Practices

Tension is encouraging the practice of social distancing or maintaining at least 6’ of distance between individuals wherever possible. Additionally, we have increased the frequency and intensity of our workplace sanitizing. These requirements and policies are communicated frequently. Visual reminders of good personal hygiene, as well as information about COVID-19 and Tension’s policies, are placed throughout the buildings.

Business Continuity

Tension has a long-standing and well-tested Business Continuity Plan (BCP), in addition to a specific policy to address pandemics. These procedures allow us to transfer work between our eight manufacturing facilities should the need arise.

At Tension, our Associates are committed to doing our part to slow the spread of COVID-19. We are taking this threat very seriously and we appreciate your support during this unprecedented time. Please contact your sales representative should you have any additional question or need assistance.
